Autonomy and Collaboration:

– Autonomous and Self-Starting: We value therapists who are autonomous and self-starting, taking initiative in their work.

– Willingness to Seek Guidance: While autonomy is key, we appreciate therapists who are willing to ask questions and seek guidance when needed.

Openness and Courage:

– Open, Vulnerable, and Courageous: Our team embodies openness, vulnerability, and courage. We seek therapists who share these values and are ready to contribute to our courageous and supportive community.

– Great customer service skills along with a willingness to continually learn.

Building a Caseload Takes Time

-If you are seeing private pay clients only, it can take around 6 months to feel like things are moving and a year to have a full caseload. If you are employed elsewhere, you can begin to work with Tribe on a part-time basis. This can give you a chance to transition, earn extra money, and build your caseload before/if you decide to make the leap to full-time with Tribe.

If you are fully licensed (LCSW, LPC, LMFT), we can get you credentialed with insurance panels to help you build up your caseload quicker!

Tech Awareness

You must be able to learn how to navigate different software programs, i.e. medical record & scheduling software. We use technology for ease of work in the long run, but there are some things to learn and set up when you start!

Embrace Your Entrepreneurial Spirit at Tribe:

– At Tribe, we champion therapists with an entrepreneurial spirit, individuals eager to innovate and make a positive impact on the lives of their clients. We recognize the value of creativity and passion in the therapeutic process.

While we encourage an entrepreneurial mindset in our therapists, we want to be transparent about our hiring policies. To ensure the highest level of commitment to our clients and maintain a focused therapeutic environment, we do not hire therapists who currently own or operate their own private practice, as this may present a conflict of interest. This doesn’t mean that we won’t support you, should you decide to open your own practice someday!

Program Overview

The Counseling on a Budget Program at Tribe Mind Body Wellness offers affordable mental health services while providing supervised master’s-level interns with valuable clinical experience. Clients can select a session fee of $80, $70, or $60, and each intern may also provide three pro-bono therapy spots for clients in need.

Location & Flexibility

Interns may request their preferred location (Arvada or Lakewood), but flexibility is encouraged to maximize referrals and clinical hours. Interns who are open to virtual sessions or working at both locations tend to reach their required hours more efficiently.

Application Requirements

To be considered for an internship or practicum placement, applicants must complete the following:

  • Application Submission
  • Background Check provided at Interns expense
  • Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
  • Proof of Liability Insurance

Marketing & Community Outreach

Interns are expected to spend at least 5 hours per month on marketing activities to promote their services and Tribe Mind Body Wellness. Suggested activities include:

Clinical vs. Non-Clinical Hours

Interns will provide individual therapy as part of their direct clinical experience. These sessions will be reviewed in supervision to ensure professional growth and quality client care.

  • If an intern requires group therapy hours, they may have the opportunity to support or observe existing groups facilitated by Tribe therapists.
  • If an intern wants to create their own therapy group, they must submit details (who/what/when/where/why) at least two months in advance to allow for marketing and outreach.
  • Interns will be expected to help promote groups to their own client caseload and help create marketing materials.

Non-Clinical Hours

Non-clinical hours are essential for professional development. Interns are expected to engage in the following activities:

  1. Reading & Research

    • Stay current with therapeutic approaches and evidence-based practices.
  2. Writing Treatment Plans & Progress Notes

    • Maintain detailed and ethical documentation for client care.
